The transformation of Seat over the past years has been remarkable and it is now truly recognised as a dynamic and fresh member of the Volkswagen Group. Abt Sportsline has added its customary 'Abt touch' to the energetic Leon, making Abt the only customiser and tuner to offer services across all four Volkswagen Group marques. The engineers and stylists at Kempten have worked tirelessly to give the Leon a face-lift, much to the delight of its managing director, Hans-Jurgen Abt.
"The Leon already carries sporty looks and dynamic features, so it was an exciting challenge for us at Abt to develop a customising package with unrivaled quality," explains Abt. The 4WD underwent several changes, beginning with an increase in engine performance from 132kW (180hp) to 191Kw (260hp) - a result of a turbocharger and an optimised engine management system. Christian Abt, renowned racing driver and member of the German Touring Car Masters, was personally involved in fine-tuning the vehicle using a height-adjustable sports suspension which can be lowered as much as 50mm. This was matched with wheels of the Z5 type at 8 x 18 inches.
The transformation continued with an Abt brake kit, steel-braided linings and an Abt gearshift lever knob, as well as features like a front spoiler lip, a rear wing, aluminium pedals, a set of footmats and Abt leather fittings. No attention to detail was spared when it came to customising the Leon, leaving no stone unturned in Abt's mission to make it a true head-turner.
