Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept 2007 posters

Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept

The Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept made its world debut at the 2007 North American International Auto Show. It provides a glimpse of the design aesthetics for a potential successor to the Acura NSX. Uniquely styled to be exotic and sporty, the concept is intended to be equipped with a front-mounted V-10 engine and Super Handling All-Wheel Drive(TM) (SH-AWD(TM)). "The Acura brand will always be a home for people who love to drive," said Takeo Fukui, president & CEO of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. "As we advance towards building a car like this, I can tell you it will feature advanced technology to match our passion for performance." The design of the car features clean, flowing lines that really capture the feeling of speed and motion. It has a long hood and pop-up headlights that nod to its NSX predecessor, while also integrating modern LED headlights. Wide approach angles, 19 and 20 inch wheels, deep curves, a slim all-black cockpit, quad exhaust pipes, and a flush-mounted tinted glass cabin complete the look. Jon Ikeda, principal designer at the Acura Design Center, said, "Our intention was to design an exotic sports car that gracefully combines advanced technology and strong emotion. The technical, machined surfaces and keen-edge design are balanced with sweeping curves and dramatic lines, all of which results in the ultimate exotic sports car." The new Acura Design Center, opening this summer, is where the concept was created.
