Acura ILX Street Build Concept
At the 2012 SEMA Show, a supercharged Acura ILX "Street Build" project car made its debut in the Acura Booth. Built by Evasive Motorsports, the ILX luxury sedan was outfitted with an Acura Genuine Accessories aero kit as well as several aftermarket modifications, all intended to produce a vehicle that is both enjoyable and drivable. This project marks Acura’s re-entry into the SEMA Show after a six year hiatus and is meant to bolster the
2013 ILX luxury compact sedan’s success.
"With sporty dynamics, premium standard features and a starting price of $25,900, the ILX is the ideal gateway vehicle to the luxury market for younger buyers,” said Mike Accavitti, Vice President of National Marketing Operations for American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “The ILX project cars displayed at SEMA exemplifies how potent the platform is for enthusiasts, adding to the momentum the new model is gaining.”
Evasive Motorsports specifically designed the Acura ILX "Street Build" to appeal to the stylish tuner in mind. Selected modifications included a CT Engineering supercharger kit with an ECU tune using a Hondata FlashPro, increasing the 2.4 liter engine’s power output to 250 horsepower, and a Greddy SP Elite prototype exhaust for a sharper sound. The exterior now features an Acura Genuine Accessories aero kit and 19-inch Volk G25 wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires, while Tein Street Advance coilovers give the ILX a lower stance and adjustability in damping force.
