Acura NSX Concept

At this year's North American International Auto Show, Acura unveiled the second concept of their next-generation supercar, the Acura NSX Concept. The Concept carries a low and wide stance and dynamic proportions, while showcasing the evolution of the vehicle's stylish design and a new possibility for the interior. "This evolution of the Acura NSX Concept design stays true to the core of the original concept styling," said Mike Accavitti, vice president of national marketing operations. "We are confident that it will exceed expectations and bring a new level of performance to the exotic sports car world." The second concept also highlights the expected underpinnings that will be in place once the production NSX is ready. The design focuses on clean, modern and simple surfacing with edgy details that embrace the supercar aesthetic with a high-tech vibe. One look into the vehicle provides a glimpse at what could be the possible direction of the interior. The Human Support Cockpit concept offers an optimised driving experience with outstanding visibility and an intuitive Simple Sports Interface that minimizes distraction and allows the driver to concentrate on the ride. "We want to create a vehicle that brings together the dynamic capabilities of a supercar with the advanced environmental performance. To do this, we are using an all-new Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system and a mid-mounted, direct-injected V-6 engine," said Jon Ikeda, chief designer, Acura Design Studio. The NSX development is taking place at Honda R&D Americas located in both Los Angeles, California and Raymond, Ohio. The production of the NSX is taking place at the new facility in central Ohio.
