Acura RL ASPEC Concept
Today at the North American International Auto Show, the Acura RL A-SPEC Concept vehicle made its debut. This concept car is based on the all-new 2005 RL luxury performance sedan and has many modifications, with the aim of exploring further possibilities for Acura's top-of-the-line sedan.
The RL A-SPEC Concept is widened by one inch compared to the production model - the track is 30mm wider, with custom 20-inch alloy wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 245/40 R20 tires making the car appear more muscular. The hood is sleek and sloped downwards, leading to a redesigned front bumper, a new signature Acura grille, and larger air intakes. The trunk lid is also restyled with an integrated spoiler, with dual, high-flow exhaust finishers for a bold look.
The RL A-SPEC Concept has an A-SPEC high performance suspension package, with a lowered ride height and track-tuned shocks and springs for more precise handling. For extra stopping power, Brembo brake components have been added on all four wheels, with 8-piston calipers and 15-inch drilled rotors.
The interior of the RL A-SPEC Concept has an elegant feel, thanks to custom hand-stitched premium leather on the seats, instrument panel and door panels. The two-tone Alcantara headliner and blonde Birchwood accents give the interior a Latin flair, and a wood sport steering wheel plus shift knob complete the high performance, luxurious atmosphere.
The all-new 2005 RL, of which this concept is based on, was released in October and gained great successes when it was put on sale. It features sporty exterior styling, a 300-horsepower engine, sport-tuned suspension - with the revolutionary SH-AWD' system and real time traffic integrated into the navigation system, the RL is a luxury performance sedan for true driving enthusiasts.
