Alfa Romeo 1900

The Alfa Romeo 1900 was a pioneering sports sedan created by Orazio Satta for the Alfa Romeo company in 1950. Boasting a production line-built design, the car featured either a two-door or four-door model, with each model housing a 1,884cc, 90bhp, 4-cylinder engine. Despite being simple in design, the Alfa Romeo 1900 was well-known for its roominess and speed, as evidenced by the company's slogan "The family car that wins races", referring to the car's success in such events as the Targa Florio, Stella Alpina, and beyond. Production of the car lasted until 1959, totaling over 21,304 units. Noteworthy among these cars were the Zagato-designed 1900 Super Sprint Coupes, featuring an upgraded engine and custom bodywork. The 1900's chassis was made in such a way that it could be easily re-bodied by any number of coachbuilders. This article is licensed under the GNU Free Documentation License.
