Alfa Romeo 75 1.8i Turbo

The classic Alfa Romeo 75, better known in North America as the Alfa Romeo Milano, was a luxurious and powerful sports sedan manufactured by the Italian automaker from 1985 to 1992. It was released to celebrate Alfa Romeo's 75th anniversary and was designed by Ermanno Cressoni. Notable design features of the Alfa Romeo 75 were its square headlights, matching grille, eye-catching wedge shape, and the nearly perfectly balanced weight distribution between front and rear. To achieve this balance, an unusual design element was implemented; the standard 5-speed gearbox was located in the rear and connected to the rear differential, making it a rear-wheel drive car. The engine crankshaft was also directly fitted to the two-segment driveshaft. The engine lineup of the Alfa Romeo 75 included four-cylinder 1.6, 1.8, and 2.0-liter petrol carbureted engines, a 2.0-liter intercooled turbo diesel, and a 2.5-liter fuel-injected V6. In 1987, a 3.0-liter V6 was added to the range. However, in North America, where the car was called the Milano, only the 2.5 and 3.0 V6s were offered from 1987 to 1989.
