Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 2.0

Introduced in 1974, the Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT was available with a 1.8 litre (1779cc) version of the Alfa DOHC four. For 1976, the GT became a range with the addition of versions with 1.6 litre (1570cc) and 2.0 litre (1962cc) engines. This version was designated Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 2000. In 1979, the 2.0 litre was redesigned as Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 2000L, equipped with new camshaft profiles and mechanical-and-vacuum ignition advance. Autodelta then released the limited edition turbocharged model, Turbodelta, which produced 175 PS (129 kW). The GTV also had a modified suspension layout. In 1981, the Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV was restyled - grey plastic bumpers replaced bright stainless steel, 1.6 litre and 1.8 litre versions were discontinued and the GTV 2000 was renamed Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 2.0. Alloy wheels of 15 inches were now standard. Later that same year, the Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 6 was released with the SOHC V6 2.5 L engine from the Alfa Romeo Alfa 6. With Bosch fuel injection as opposed to the Dellorto carburettors in the early Alfa 6, the V6 was more reliable and its performance praised when used in the Alfetta GTV 6. The interior was then revised with new gear ratios in 1984.
