Alfa Romeo Gloria Concept 2013 posters

Alfa Romeo Gloria Concept

At the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, the European Design Institute (IED) of Turin revealed 'Gloria', a concept created by the Master in Transportation Design in collaboration with the Alfa Romeo Style Centre. This prototype embodies the sporty Italian style that the brand is known for, which has made its way around the world. In 1966, the Spider Duetto in the film The Graduate famously established the Alfa Romeo legendary image in the United States; with the Alfa Romeo Gloria Concept, they hope to make the same success overseas, in both the American and Asian markets. The European Design Institute of Turin, facilitated by its proximity to the Fiat-Chrysler EMEA Design Center, was able to coach master students in designing a saloon to be marketed in the two aforementioned markets. Saloons are seen as a symbol of prestige, and customers generally prefer vehicles with a longer length for spaciousness in the front and back. During every phase of the project, starting from the product brief up to the development of the prototype in 1:1 scale, the Alfa Romeo Style Centre has provided invaluable support and assistance. "The students had the freedom to independently interpret a new Alfa Romeo saloon," said Lorenzo Ramaciotti, Head of Fiat & Chrysler Design. "We offered our guidance and feedback throughout the design process to ensure they were able to reach their full potential and come out with a great project."
