Alfa Romeo Pandion Concept 2010 posters

Alfa Romeo Pandion Concept

After two years of absence from the international scene, Bertone made an incredible return with the Alfa Romeo Pandion Concept car at the Geneva Motor Show. This breathtaking coupé was made as a tribute to Alfa Romeos' hundredth anniversary, showcasing all the aggressive yet beautiful qualities that make a typical Bertone car stand out. With its 4.7 litre, 450 CV 8-cylinder Alfa Romeo engine, the concept car is 4620 mm long, 1971 mm wide, 1230 mm high and has a 2850 mm wheelbase, making it compact yet generously spacious. This marks the debut of Mike Robinson as Design and Brand Director at Bertone, who conceived the Alfa Romeo Pandion Concept as a 'dream car' that lives up to the iconic style of the Alfa Romeo family. The car was also given its name from the animal kingdom; Pandion Haliaetus, the scientific name for an Osprey, a sea hawk that nests and lives in coastal areas. This provided the design team with inspiration for the unique and spectacular door opening mechanisms and the distinctive facial markings, propelling the Alfa Romeo brand into the next generation of design.
