The iconic Alfa Romeo Spider has been designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, and redeveloped by Pininfarina in collaboration with Alfa Romeo Centro Stile. Four versions of the UK Version are available, prices starting at £25,995. Two petrol powerplants are available, a 2.2 litre 4-cylinder 185 bhp unit and a 3.2 litre V6 260 bhp, alongside the 2.4 litre 20v MultiJet (JTDM) turbodiesel producing 200 bhp. The 2.2 JTS engine utilises an M32.6 6-speed manual gearbox, and the 3.2 JTS and 2.4 JTDM come with a 6-speed F40 manual transmission. The 3.2 JTS models can also be ordered with Alfa Romeo's 6-speed QTRONIC automatic transmission and optional gear shift paddles.
Power outputs of this advanced JTS petrol engine offer more than 80 bhp/litre, with 90% of maximum torque available at just 2000 rpm. Furthermore, direct injection and continuous valve timing significantly improve fuel efficiency while still complying with Euro Stage 4 emission limits.
