Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale

The iconic Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale, created by the notorious Zagato, utilizes a chassis based on the formidable Viper ACR and a carbon fibre body. In true Zagato style, the TZ3 Stradale was conceived with the idea of “Bellezza necessaria” - beauty is necessary - creating a perfect symbiosis between the American powertrain and the first American Alfa Romeo. Commissioned by the esteemed Alfa Romeo Zagato collector, Martin Kapp, the first Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale was delivered to the esteemed US Alfa Romeo and Zagato collector and Saratoga Automobile Museum board member, Eric King. The TZ3 Stradale n°2 and n°3 were delivered in Japan and Europe respectively. The TZ3 Corsa and TZ3 Stradale are both defined by their Kamm-tail (K-tail) layout, a feature made popular in Italy by famous “Coda Tronca” bodies tested by Zagato in the early 60s, reaching its climax on iconic models such as the Alfa Romeo TZ and TZ2. Kamm Effect is an aerodynamic efficiency-focused functional design approach that allows for reductions in the CX while maintaining relatively compact volumes. The Kamm Tail parameter enables wind resistance to be reduced without a need for a stretched “drop” concept for the vehicle's tail.
