Aston Martin AMV8 Concept Car

Aston Martin has unveiled a spectacular concept car that is set to become one of the most influential models in the company's 89-year history: the Aston Martin AMV8 Vantage. This car is the basis for an upcoming third Aston Martin model, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, to be released in 2005. This future model will join the current Aston Martin DB7 and flagship Aston Martin Vanquish in the lineup. The AMV8 Vantage will be hand-crafted at Aston Martin's new production facility at Gaydon, UK. The car's name, 'Vantage', draws from a historic link with Aston Martin, now used as a specific model name instead of a signifier of a high performance version. The AMV8 Vantage is a tailored two-seater sports car using a front mid-engine/rear-wheel drive layout. Design work was undertaken by Aston Martin's Design Director, Henrik Fisker, achieving an unmistakably modern Aston Martin while making sure that the interior layout and equipment could be alluringly carried over into the production car.
