Aston Martin DB4

Work on the Aston Martin DB4 began in 1956, at the same time as the Aston Martin DB Mark III. Those in charge of the development of the DB4, General Manager John Wyer, chassis designer Harold Beach, and engine designer Tadek Marek, had the goal of creating an entirely new car. Carrozzeria Touring of Milan employed the 'Superleggera' system, attaching lightweight alloy panels to a tubular chassis atop a robust platform, to design the four-seater body. The DB4 was unveiled at the London Motor Show in 1958, located on the same showroom floor as the DB Mark III, which stayed in production until shortly after the car's debut. Its powerful engine and sophisticated design earned the DB4 the title of the world's first production car capable of reaching 0–100–0 mph in less than thirty seconds. With its impressive performance, the Aston Martin DB4 established the brand as a serious competitor amidst other Mediterranean sports car manufacturers. Tadek Marek's new 3.7 litre, six-cylinder twin overhead camshaft, all alloy engine first ran in 1956 and was raced in the Aston Martin DBR2 in 1957. Afterwards, a four-seater convertible was revealed at the London Motor Show in 1961. By the conclusion of its production run in 1963, the DB4 had five distinct series, such as the Aston Martin DB4 GT and Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato. Technical Specifications
