Perhaps the most famous Aston Martin ever made, the specially equipped silver birch Aston Martin DB5 was featured in hit James Bond films like "Goldfinger" and "Thunderball". The iconic DB5 even made a resurgence on the big screen in the 1995 film "GoldenEye".
Not to be confused with the earlier, but similarly designed, Aston Martin DB4, the DB5 underwent changes in its engine, increasing its capacity to 4 litres by way of a larger bore size of 96mm. Its transmission was also upgraded to a true full synchromesh ZF 5 speed gearbox. Other improvements included the adoption of Girling disc brakes (which had only been used on the Aston Martin DB4 GT) and the installment of 15" wheels.
For those looking for the overall experience of the DB5, the convertible version offered with a steel hard top and a giant rear window has captivated many.
