Aston Martin DB6 1965 posters

Aston Martin DB6

The Aston Martin DB6 was the first in the marque's line-up to bear the Volante name synonymous with ‘flying’ in Italian. Short-chassis Volantes were the final 37 of the Aston Martin DB5 series to be put together between October 1965 and October 1966. The new model, however, bore visible indications of its DB4 and DB5 heritage when introduced at the 1965 London Motor Show. Noteworthy were the integrated Kamm tail spoiler at the rear of the car which boosted its stability at high speeds, a split front and rear bumper design, a raised 134 cm-high roof and longer wheelbase of 258.5 cm - an additional 9.5 cm in comparison to the previous DB5.
