Aston Martin DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo Concept
Introducing the latest addition to the Vision Gran Turismo line-up of race cars, the Design Prototype 100 - DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo from Aston Martin. Developed by the in-house design team at Aston Martin and led by Design Director Marek Reichman, this beautiful virtual-only GT racer will be exclusively released on the PlayStation®3 game Gran Turismo®6 (GT6™) and available for download in July 2014.
Four months of immense effort was put into making DP-100 a reality. Aston Martin's traditional "blank sheet of paper" approach was taken to push the boundaries of what an Aston Martin race car can be. This mid-engined twin-turbo V12 racer is equipped with state-of-the-art electronics and close attention was paid to the suspension system. Boasting up to 800bhp, the car will live up to the high octane standards of the game. Produced in the same fashion as their production sports cars with sketches and 3D modelling, many design features from the DP-100 such as the light blade rear lamps, may be seen in future Aston Martin sports cars.
Aston Martin has a long-standing relationship with Gran Turismo®, debuting in the very first game with the DB7 Coupé and Volante, followed by the breathtaking One-77 in the Gran Turismo® 6 version. Reflecting on the future of the partnership, Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of Gran Turismo and President of Polyphony Digital Inc, marveled at the level of perfection in DP-100's design: "Not only is it clean and classy in design but it is also very emotional. There was this future Aston Martin in front of me, that was so detailed it could be released on the market pretty much as is."
