Aston Martin Lagonda
The William Towns Aston Martin Lagonda stunned the world with its revolutionary design and pioneering electronic instrumentation. After being unveiled in October 1976, this cutting-edge car broke the mould with its solid-state digital instrumentation and was met with great admiration.
Due to the low production levels of one car per week, it wasn't until 1979 that the first Lagonda was delivered. It was even later, in 1982, before U.S. markets were able to purchase the Aston Martin.
In 1984, a Long Wheelbase Tickford Limousine version was released and featured two TVs - one in the front and one at the back. Three years later, the car was re-designed by William Towns, where the pop-up headlights were swapped for six smaller lights and the vehicle was complete with new 16" alloy wheels.
Production of the Aston Martin Lagonda came to a close in 1989, after a total of 645 cars were made, each requiring a staggering 2,200 man-hours to build. Of the 645 chassis made, only around 25 were produced each year for the U.S.
