Aston Martin Zagato Vanquish Roadster Concept 2004 posters

Aston Martin Zagato Vanquish Roadster Concept

The partnership between Zagato and Aston Martin is legendary, era-spanning from the classic Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato of the 1960s, to the Vantage and Volante models of the 80s, and the contemporary DB7 Vantage Zagato and DB AR1. Known as 'instant classics', these models have been highly sought after by car collectors and enthusiasts. At the 2004 Geneva Motor Show, Zagato introduced the new Aston Martin Zagato Vanquish Roadster, a varying interpretation of the iconic Vanquish, which presented futuristic touches of style. In stark contrast to the limited-edition DB7 Zagato and AR1 models, this 'provocation' was put forward in partnership with Aston Martin itself. Nori Harada, Zagato's Automotive Chief Designer, and Peter Hutchinson, Design Manager at Aston Martin, worked together to devise the sleek, athleisure-inspired concept. The round rear light cluster, tapered tail and newly designed rear bumper combined with the 'double bubble' form of its hardened glass cover and functional modular top system. An elegant interior finish was also introduced, complete with a luggage compartment visible through the cover. At the front, the concept kept the same appearance of the Vanquish coupe, famously used as James Bond's vehicle. The technical specifications are listed below:
  • Height: 1265 mm
  • Width: 1923 mm
  • Length: 4685 mm
  • Wheelbase: 2690 mm
  • Front track: 1572 mm
  • Rear track: 1584 mm
  • Engine: V-12
  • Capacity: 5935 cc
  • Torque: 555 Nm @ 5000 rpm
