Audi A3 Sportback
Audi is taking the sportiness of the A3 a step further with the Audi A3 Sportback. It features high tech components such as the seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission and the Audi magnetic ride shock absorber control system for an even better driving experience. The range is topped off by the S3 Sportback with an output of 195 kW (265 hp). The design of this premium compact car has been updated for a more graceful look. Delivery is scheduled for the summer and prices are only being adjusted slightly.
The Audi A3 model series has already been hugely successful for over a decade – the first generation debuted in 1996. It was the first vehicle in its own market segment as a premium, compact car for individual and particular customers. The second generation three-door A3 was launched in 2003 followed by the five door Sportback in 2004. It had four years of outstanding success - 230,849 units were produced in 2007 alone. The one millionth second-generation A3 left the factory in December 2008.
The A3 and Audi A3 Sportback have a sleek, sporty profile that can be seen in its details. The engine hood and fenders are more expressive while the bumpers and the single-frame radiator grille have been upgraded. The revised headlamps are complemented by "wings" for a luxurious look and daytime running lights which can be switched to optional bi-xenon headlamps with seven LED-illuminated lights. The side mirrors, door handles and cast aluminum wheels in the Ambition equipment line further amplify the aesthetics of the vehicle with a 17" diameter.
