Audi A3 3-door

At the 2003 Geneva Motor Show, Audi unveiled the second generation A3, the Typ 8P, which had been designed by Walter de'Silva. Available at launch with only four-cylinder engine options, the new model featured a brand new mechanical platform, a refurbished interior featuring increased space, along with new petrol engines with Fuel Stratified Injection, and as standard, a six-speed manual gearbox (except for the 1.6 base model). In mid 2003, Audi introduced two sport models: a 2.0 Turbo FSI with 200 PS (147 kW), and a 3.2 VR6 with 250 PS (184 kW). Quattro four wheel drive and the S-Tronic semi-auto gearbox were made available as optional features on every engine option over 140 PS. In June of 2004, Audi revealed the A3 Sportback five-door body, which was 8 cm (3 in) longer than the original 3-door, thereby creating extra rear cabin space and a suitably larger luggage compartment (370 litres). It showcased the new front grille, which had already been introduced in the A8 W12. The S-Line trim level, marked by sporty decorative elements, was launched across certain models in 2005, while the 3-door body received the same front-end as the 5-door Sportback. The second generation A3 made its debut in the American market that same year, coming with the Sportback body alone and is available with either the 2.0 TFSI engine (2005) or the 3.2 V6 Quattro engine (2006). A more powerful 2.0 TDI with 170 PS (125 kW) was also added to the lineup in April 2006. In August 2006, the S3 version, the range's new top-of-the-line model made its appearance. It features the uprated 2.0 TFSI engine offering 265 PS (195 kW), thanks to higher turbo pressure of 2.2 bar and an option of either a standard 6-speed manual or Quattro. The springs and dampers were re-tuned with a harder setting, and the ride height lowered by 25 mm (1 inch). 225/40 R18 tyres are standard. Engines
