Audi A3 Sportback quattro

At its introduction at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show, the second-generation Audi A3 - known as the Typ 8P - was designed by Walter de'Silva. This version of the A3 was launched as a 3-door hatchback, with four cylinder engines and a six-speed gearbox (except for the base 1.6). The interior was redesigned for comfort and spaciousness, and petrol engines were equipped with Fuel Stratified Injection. Later in 2003, two sport models were released, a 2.0 Turbo FSI variant with 200 PS (147 kW) and a 3.2 VR6 model featuring 250 PS (184 kW). Quattro all-wheel drive and the S-Tronic semi-auto gearbox were offered as options for models from 140 PS upwards, and became standard on the 3.2 V6. In June 2004, the A3 Sportback - a 5-door body - was introduced. As compared to the 3-door model, this version was 8 cm (3 in) longer, with improved cabin space and a larger luggage compartment (370 litres). It was further given a new front grille design, debuted in the A8 W12. In 2005, certain models were given the S-Line trim, with sporty touches, and the 3-door received the same frontend as the Sportback. This was followed in the same year by the introduction of the A3 to the American market, with the Sportback body and 2.0 TFSI engine. In 2006, the 3.2 V6 was added, along with a more powerful 2.0 TDI model featuring 170 PS (125 kW). In August 2006, the S3 version of the A3 was announced. The 2.0 TFSI engine was upgraded to 265 PS (195 kW), with a 2.2 bar turbo pressure, and the six-speed manual and Quattro drive came as standard. This version could accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.7 seconds, and featured a hardy suspension set-up, lower ride height and 225/40 R18 tyres. Engines
