Audi A4 3.0 TDI quattro

Audi updated the A4 in late 2004, using its B7 platform which is specific to the Audi marque. The B7 is based on the preceding B6, however, and carries the internal platform designation of PL46. The engine range has been further expanded, with Fuel Stratified Injection being added to the 2.0 TFSI and 3.2 V6 FSI. These engines generate 200 and 255 PS (147 and 188 kW) respectively, with the five-valve design switched for the popular four-valve setup to match the direct injection system. Also debuting is a 2.0 TDI, featuring a 16-valve configuration and Pumpe Düse technology, while the 2.5 TDI has been increased to 3.0L, registering 204 PS (150 kW). Quattro is stated as either a standard or optional feature across the mid- to higher-tier models and is available with both multitronic and Tiptronic automatic options. Multitronic is only suited to front-wheel drive models, while only quattro models can take the Tiptronic option. The S4 continued across the B7 range without alteration, but the RS4 is back in its third generation and is now available in a sedan body style, boasting a 4.2 V8 FSI motor. A 3rd-gen quattro system using a 40:60 front-rear power set-up is also featured. As if this wasn't enough, late 2005 saw the release of the limited edition 'DTM Edition', and later in 2006 this was presented as a regular option. The 'DTM Edition' features a 2.0T FSI engine calibrated to 220 PS (162 kW) with quattro engagement. The front grille has been redesigned, making it the same size as that of the Audi A6. The Cabriolet variant released in February 2006, and the entry-level 2.0 TDI version came with a Multitronic gearbox in tow.
