Audi A4 Cabriolet 1.8 T

The Audi A4 Cabriolet 1.8 T is the most powerful model in the A4 series to receive an upgrade in 2000. It features the Volkswagen Group B6 (PL46) platform and the car's design was developed by Peter Schreyer, inspired by the Bauhaus design language of the C5 (second-generation) Audi A6. This model comes with a 1.8-litre 20-valve Turbo engine with six-speed manual gearbox, and an all-aluminium alloy 3.0 litre engine, capable of 220 PS (162 kW; 217 bhp) and 300 newton metres (221 lb·ft) of torque. The A4 Avant was introduced in June 2001, and the 1.8 Turbo engines got an extra power upgrade to 163 PS (120 kW; 161 bhp) and 190 PS (140 kW; 187 bhp). The 2.5 TDI intermediate version was also added. The S4 was reintroduced in 2002 with a 344 PS (253 kW; 339 bhp) 4.2 L V8 engine, and an A4 Cabriolet convertible variant was added as well. This variant includes an electro-hydraulic operated roof and styling changes, such as body-coloured lower bumper and sill panels. Audi increased engine efficiency by introducing a continuously variable transmission (CVT) developed by LuK, named multitronic, which replaced the traditional automatic transmission. This transmission was praised for its light weight and responsiveness. The boot was redesigned from the Audi A6 model, and the rear light assemblies became part of the top line. The North American market featured a 'Ultra Sport' package with aluminium interior trim, "S line" steering wheel, front and rear spoilers, side skirts, and quattro GmbH designed RS4 alloy roadwheels.
