Audi A4 Cabriolet 3.0

Debuting in October 2000, the Audi A4 Cabriolet 3.0 had a completely new look crafted by Peter Schreyer. The petrol and gasoline engines got sometimes power upgrades and displacement increases, while the 1.6 litre and 2.8 litre engine were switched for 2.0 litre and all-aluminium alloy 3.0 litre units. The latter was capable of up to 220 PS (162 kW; 217 bhp) and 300 newton metres (221 lb·ft) of torque. Additionally, the 1.9 Turbocharged Direct Injection (TDI) engine was improved to 130 PS (96 kW; 128 bhp) with Pumpe Düse (PD) technology and quattro permanent four-wheel drive. The 2.5 V6 TDI was premiered with 180 PS (132 kW; 178 bhp) and quattro. The Audi Avant came out in June 2001 and the S4 in July 2003, powered by a 4.2 L V8 engine with 344 PS (253 kW; 339 bhp). For 2002, the 1.8 Turbo engines got updates to 163 PS (120 kW; 161 bhp) and 190 PS (140 kW; 187 bhp). Notable features included an electro-hydraulic operated roof and an optional Sport package called 'Ultra Sport' in the North American market. There was also a continuous variable transmission developed by LuK, a redesigned boot, rear light assemblies, and an optional Bosch ESP 5.7 Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) system.
