Audi A8 3.7 quattro

The second-generation Audi A8 (Typ 4E) was introduced in November 2002 in Europe and June 2003 in the United States. This model was larger and could accommodate four or five passengers depending on the rear seat configuration. The development program began in 1996 and the design process commenced in 1997. The design team produced six full size clay models, with two of them being chosen for further refinement. After a year of refining, the final theme selection was made by Miklós Kovács and Imre Hasanic. The body was made from aluminium, resulting in a longer development time. In parallel to the exterior design, the interior design team focused on placing the major controls near the driver for a more driver-focused identity, as well as creating a sense of airiness and spaciosity. This was achieved with the help of the Multi Media Interface (MMI) designed by Jurgen Schröder, along with class-leading color and trim from Barbara Krömeke and Melinda Jenkins.
