The Audi A8 hybrid is the world's most efficient luxury-class hybrid sedan and one of the few European full hybrid options in its segment. Combining the power of its six-cylinder engine and the fuel economy of a four-cylinder, it offers 180 kW (245 hp) of system power with an all-electric range of up to three kilometers. The Audi A8 hybrid is a parallel hybrid powered by a 155 kW (211 hp) 2.0 TFSI and an electric motor, connected via a clutch and sent to its front wheels via an eight-speed tiptronic gear box. Its 1.3 kWh lithium-ion battery is aided by a sophisticated two-tier air cooling system. The car's ultra lightweight aluminum body contributes to its remarkable fuel efficiency of 6.3 liters of fuel per 100 km (37.34 US mpg). Adding to its exemplary efficiency is a 0-100 km/h (62.14 mph) sprint time of 7.7 seconds with a top speed of 235 km/h (146.02 mph) and CO2 emissions equivalent of 147 grams per km (236.57 g/mile).
