Audi A8 L 6.0 quattro

The updated Audi A8 debuted in 1994 and is a full-size luxury car offering. Its primary competitors include the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series, Volkswagen Phaeton, Lexus LS 430, and Jaguar XJ8. The A8 is unique as it was built on Audi's then-new D2 platform, an all aluminum space frame that greatly reduced weight. This platform debuted the world's first car built with an entirely aluminum structure. In 1997, Audi added six interior airbags as a pioneering safety measure. The car also featured Quattro all-wheel-drive, along with either a multitronic or tiptronic automatic transmission. In 2001, Audi released a 6.0 L W12 engine, which was two 3.0 L VR6 engines mated together at the crankshaft. This was an exclusive engine option to European and Asian customers, in the long-wheelbase version and created only 750 models until 2003.
