Audi A8 hybrid is the world's most efficient luxury-class hybrid sedan that will be debuting in spring 2012. This full hybrid car has an all-electric range of up to three kilometers, making it the only European car in its segment. Its exceptional power consumption is due to its ultra light aluminum body and the combination of a 2.0 TFSI and an electric motor delivering 180 kW (245 hp), resulting in fuel consumption of 6.3 liters per 100 km (37.34 US mpg). The parallel hybrid is equipped with a lithium-ion battery in the rear with 1.3 kWh of energy, and its eight-speed tiptronic smoothly transmits power to front wheels. With a 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) sprint time of 7.7seconds and a top speed of 235 km/h (146.02 mph), the Audi A8 hybrid is a leader in its class, with a CO2 equivalent of 147 grams per km (236.57 g/mile).
