The high-security version of Audi's luxury sedan, the A8 L Security, meets the highest level of criteria for civilian vehicles. In addition to the armor plating, it is outfitted with a range of high-security equipment. Being available with either a 4.0 TFSI or the W12 engine, the new A8 L Security is a representative sedan that is, visually, indistinguishable from the production version. It is 5.27 meters (17.29 ft) long and has a wheelbase of 3.12 meters (10.24 ft).
Body
The exterior of the A8 L Security features sharper contours, flatter headlights, and modified LED rear lights. It has a dual trapezoidal tailpipe trim and LED headlights as part of the standard specification with the V8 engine, while the W12 comes with Audi's Matrix LED technology. This headlight system prevents the blinding of other road users while still providing optimal illumination for the road. To ensure excellent crash behavior, the deformation properties of each key component was carefully evaluated while designing the A8 L Security.
What further sets it apart is the integration of the high-security version in the car's original plan, resulting in an overall concept that exceeds the level of retrofit solutions. Thanks to quattro permanent all-wheel drive, this luxury sedan also remains the lightest vehicle in the high-security segment.
