Audi presents its comprehensively updated A8 flagship at the 2013 IAA in Frankfurt am Main. The engine lineup has become more powerful and efficient, and new assistance systems and innovative Matrix LED headlights make the driving experience even smoother. The A8 sets Audi apart as an innovator amongst luxury class cars: its low weight of 1,830 kilograms (4,034.46 lb) is best-in-class for models with all-wheel drive. This is due to the body structure, which is an Audi Space Frame (ASF) design made entirely of aluminum, weighing only 231 kilograms (509.27 lb). Dimensions of the A8 remain unchanged, while the A8 L has an extended length and wheelbase of 13 centimeters (5.12 in) each. Both body variants have a drag coefficient of just 0.26 (for TDI) or 0.27 (for TFSI) depending on the engine type.
