The Audi R8 LMX is one of many examples of Audi technology, perfected on the racetrack and transferred to the road. This limited run model was only produced 99 times, making it a valuable addition to the Audi family. In addition to being the first production car to be fitted with standard laser lighting, the LMX is the most powerful R8 of its era.
The LMX is based on the V10 plus model, adding an additional boost of output to the high-revving 10-cylinder FSI engine so the 0-62mph sprint is faster; at 3.4 seconds. Laser light is activated above 37mph when the driver switches the headlights from dipped to main beam. The headlights produced a beam with double the range due to intelligent camera-based sensing to reduce other road users from being blinded.
The R8 LMX features a striking Audi exclusive Ara Blue, crystal effect customized paint finish and blue interior detailing, which was inspired by the blue light emitted by laser beams. Carbon-fibre ceramic brakes with red anodized calipers are standard, with a CFRP finish for the exterior mirror housings, sideblades, rear wing and other exterior and interior details.
