Audi R8 e-tron Concept
The Audi R8 e-tron redefines electric mobility with its dynamic and emotional performance. Featuring two electric motors, that deliver 280 kW (380 hp) and 820 Nm (604.80 lb-ft) of torque, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) within 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 200 km/h (124.27 mph). An impressive 48.6 kWh battery powers the car, with an operating range of 215 kilometers (133.59 miles). With this, Audi has gained considerable experience to develop its future production models.
Weighing 1,780 kilograms (3,924.23 lb), the Audi R8 e-tron has a cutting-edge Multimaterial Space Frame body design featuring 199 kilograms (438.72 lb) of aluminum parts (23 kg/50.71 lb lighter than the R8 Coupé) and CFRP components contributing 23 percent. The forward structure of the R8 e-tron is made of aluminum, whereas the CFRP and metal parts are blended for the tail end. Moreover, a CRFP supporting trunk insert with corrugated crash structures is five times more absorbent than an aluminum lattice structure. And a new sandwich concept reduces the weight by 11.5 kilograms (25.35 lb) for the B-posts and rear bulkhead.
