Audi RS4
The Audi RS4 was first introduced in 2000 as the successor to the highly acclaimed RS2, which was developed by Porsche. It was only available as an Avant (station wagon) and built upon the B5 generation A4/S4 platform, with a base price of around 103,584 Deutsche Mark at the time. Although it was not available for sale in the United States, sales were offered in Europe and some Latin American countries, such as Mexico and Brazil.
Powering the RS4 was a modified version of the B5 S4's 2.7 L, twin-turbocharged V6 engine, which was tuned by Cosworth Technology. It featured enlarged intake/exhaust ports on the cylinder heads, turbochargers and intercoolers, along with new induction and exhaust systems and a re-calibrated engine management system, with power output bumped up to 380 PS (280 kW/375 hp) and 440 Nm (325 ft·lbf) - an increase from the 265 PS (195 kW/261 hp) and 350 Nm (257 ft·lbf) of the S4. The combination of a six-speed manual transmission and Audi's Quattro all wheel drive system allowed for incredible performance despite the vehicle's hefty curb weight of 1620 kg (3568 lb). In fact, it could reach the 100 km/h (62 mph) mark in just 4.7 seconds, and 160 km/h (100 mph) in just 11.6. To match this, Audi/Cosworth Technologies developed brakes which featured 360 mm (14.2 inches) rotors at the front, and 312 mm (12.2 inches) at the rear, needing less than 50 m (155 ft) from 110 km/h (69 mph) to come to a full stop.
Final RS4 models were registered as 2002 models, with production stopping the year before.
