The new Audi RS5 is set to bring unbridled power coupled with a classic elegance - debuting at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show. This high-revving 4.2-liter V8 engine with 331 kW (450 hp) is powered by a seven-speed S tronic and quattro's innovative center differential, sending power to all four wheels. Developed by quattro GmbH, the RS5 is the latest model to be added to Audi's RS range, which has a long history dating back to the RS2 Avant with its superior handling capabilities.
The high-revving V8 that powers the Audi RS5 is a close relative of the V10 engine that grants the Audi R8 its powers. This 4,163 cm3 engine packs 120 bars of pressure thanks to its direct fuel injection system and utilizes dual-branch intake and exhaust system to allow maximum performance. This engine has peak power of 331 kW (450 hp) at 8,250 rpm and reaches a max torque of 430 Nm (317.15 lb-ft) between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm, allowing it to rival many race engines.
