The peak power of 426 kW (580 hp) can be obtained between the revs of 6,250 to a maximum of 6,700 rpm.
With a power-to-weight ratio of 3.4 kilograms per hp, the Audi RS6 is as competent as a supercar, reaching 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 4.5 seconds and a limited top speed of 250 km/h (155.34 mph), that can be increased to 280 km/h (173.98 mph) if desired. Throttle responsiveness is instantaneous and acceleration is effortless with the help of the six-speed tiptronic transmission, part of the new generation of Audi automatic transmissions, that shifts twice as fast as previous models and has shorter gear ratios. Drivers are also able to manually change gears with either the shift lever or the paddles on the steering wheel. The power is then distributed to the rear wheels via the supremely sporty quattro drivetrain.
