The Audi A6 was a groundbreaking luxury-class saloon when it launched in 2004, rapidly rising to the top of the segment with its dynamic qualities. Now, the Ingolstadt brand is unveiling an even more sporty version: the Audi S6.
The Audi S6 stands for unmistakable dynamism, thanks to the advanced engine, transmission, suspension, and design. Together, they create a unique combination of sporting luxury and supreme exclusivity. Both the saloon and Avant models will become available in mid-2006, retailing for EUR 79,800 and EUR 82,000 respectively (prices in Germany).
The S6 is powered by a new V10 engine that draws technology from the Lamborghini Gallardo super sports car, but has been thoroughly updated for Audi. Producing 435 bhp (320 bhp) from its 5.2L size and 540 Nm of torque at 3,000-4,000rpm, this potent engine is also used by the Audi S8. Similarly, FSI petrol direct injection ensures outstanding performance, with the saloon accelerating from 0-100km/h in just 5.2 seconds and the Avant taking a slightly longer 5.3 seconds – both topping out at a governed 250 km/h.
