Audi SQ5 TDI 2013 posters

Audi SQ5 TDI

The Audi SQ5 TDI is a new top model of the Q5 model series, set to hit the streets in late summer 2012 for a price of 58,500 euros. It is also the first S model with a diesel engine in Audi's history. The twin-turbocharged 3.0 TDI delivers an impressive 230 kW (313 hp) of power and 650 Nm (479.42 lb-ft) of torque between 1,450 and 2,800 rpm. Cooling of the cylinder heads, control times and strokes of the intake camshafts, the pistons, their spray oil cooling and the piston rods have been adapted to the high-performance concept. Furthermore, the common rail system builds a pressure of up to 2,000 bar and can perform up to eight partial injections into the cylinders, and a sound actuator in the exhaust system produces a deep sonorous sound. From zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph), the Audi SQ5 TDI takes only 5.1 seconds, and has a top speed of 250 km/h (155.34 mph). This remarkable power is surprisingly met with equally impressive fuel efficiency, as its combined fuel consumption measures 7.2 liters per 100 km (32.67 US mpg). This efficiency is also thanks to its thermal management, energy recovery and start-stop systems, as well as the regulated oil pump. These features are mated to an eight-speed tiptronic that shifts quickly and smoothly, and the quattro permanent four-wheel drive transfers the engine's power to the road. The exterior and interior of the Audi SQ5 TDI is as appealing as its performance. Its sport suspension lowers the body by 30 mm (1.18 in), it has 20-inch wheels with size 255/45 tires, and 21-inch wheels are available as an option. Its platinum gray single-frame radiator grille, roof spoiler, modified bumpers, exterior mirror housings, xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights, and four elliptical tailpipes all contribute to its aesthetic appeal. Inside, the interior is designed in black, with an optional silver headlining. Electrically adjustable sport seats upholstered in either Pearl Nappa leather or Alcantara are available in three colors, while trims panels consist of brushed aluminum, or CFRP, piano finish black or aluminium beaufort as options. The instruments' scales are gray, and their needles are white; the pedals and shift paddles also glisten in an aluminum look. Furthermore, the S gear shift knob, S badges on the door sill trims, on the start button and on the specially shaped steering wheel, the S welcome screen and the light package all serve as special design highlights. The exterior color Estoril Blue and Panther Black is available as an optional crystal effect exterior option.
