Audi TT Roadster 1.8T

The Audi TT Roadster 1.8T is a two-door sports car with a sleek, eye-catching design. It is based on the Volkswagen Group A4 (PQ34) platform and is equipped with a powerful 1.8-litre turbocharged engine. It was launched as a Coupe in 1998 and as a Roadster in 1999. The original TT models gained notoriety for several high-speed accidents. To address this issue, Audi's Electronic Stability Programme and rear spoiler were added, as well as suspension modifications. This generation (2000-2006) of the TT earned a nomination for the North American Car of the Year award in 2000 and was also featured on Car and Driver magazine's Ten Best list for 2000 and 2001. In 2003, Audi gave it a ‘facelift’ with minor styling and practicality changes. Factory production ended in June 2006. The 1.8-litre turbocharged engine can generate up to 225 PS (165 kW; 222 hp) and is available with either front-wheel drive or 'quattro' on-demand four-wheel drive. A 3.2-litre VR6 engine with 250 PS (184 kW; 247 hp) was offered in early 2003 as standard with the quattro system, as was the Direct-Shift Gearbox, a six-speed dual clutch transmission, in July 2003.
