Audi allroad quattro 2.7T

The Audi allroad Quattro was an innovative wagon crossover automobile made by Audi from 2000 to 2006. It boasted a one-of-a-kind platform based on the second generation "C5" A6 Avant (station wagon). It was enhanced with an advanced air suspension system, larger wheels with all-terrain tires, and flared and unpainted bumpers to give it improved capability over any terrain. As standard, it was equipped with the iconic Audi quattro system. The first allroad models had either a 2.7 L twin-turbo V6 or a 2.5 L TDI Diesel engine that pushed out a whopping 180 PS and 273 ft·lbf torque. It was later fitted with a 4.2 V8, shared with the A6 sedan, and a less powerful TDI engine. The allroad was created with the capacity to tackle difficult road conditions. The adjustable air suspension system could raise the car to offer 8.3 inches of ground clearance, and it also had a low-range mode that was missing from other quattro vehicles. And if the owner wanted to drive on the road only, the air suspension could lower the allroad to only 5.5 inches above ground level and instantly stiffen the spring and damper rates to provide a sportier driving experience like the Audi S6. Many owners also chose to fit their allroad with some sporty, road-oriented tires to bring out its sportier charisma. SalesAlthough the car was certainly competitive and had much positive feedback from owners and magazine reviews, allroad sales were disappointing in the North American market. Most of its sales came from Europe, particularly in Germany. Although it had an attractive price, it lacked market identity in its niche and had an ambiguous advertising effort; buyers looking for either the car-like look and feel of a station wagon or the mid-sized, truck-based SUV didn't take to the Allroad since it lacked any distinguishable character. The sales had a minor uptick in 2004 with the introduction of a less costly Diesel engine, but again fell in 2005. As a result, Audi stopped production in July, although the model remained available for sale in Europe until 2006. Instead, Audi concentrated its efforts on launching the Audi Q7 SUV and later the sportier Q5 car-based SUV, both of which have enjoyed critical success.
