Audi allroad quattro V6 2.7T

The Audi allroad Quattro was a Wagon crossover automobile produced by Audi from 2000 to 2006. It shared its platform with the second generation "C5" A6 Avant (station wagon), but featured an advanced air suspension, larger wheels with all-terrain tires, and flared and unpainted bumpers that gave it a distinct look and increased its capability on varying terrains. Audi's Quattro system was also installed as standard equipment. The allroad had two engine options - Audi's 2.7 L, twin-turbo V6 and 2.5 L TDI Diesel engines with 132 kW (180 PS) and 370 N·m (273 ft·lbf) torque. In 2003, a variant of the corporate 4.2 V8 (shared with the A6 sedan) was made available, followed by a less powerful TDI engine in 2004. The allroad had been designed to handle rough terrains, and its air suspension system had a range from 16 cm (5.5 in) above the road level to 21 cm (8.3 in) above ground level. It also had a low-range mode, absent from other Quattro equipped vehicles, that could be chosen with the press of a button. During testing, it proved to be the only car-based SUV capable of completing a Land Rover test-course. Sales of the Allroad were largely European, especially from its native Germany, despite positive reviews and its versatility. Its high price, lack of identity in its segment, and convoluted advertising were likely factors. Furthermore, buyers tended to lean more towards station wagons or mid-sized, truck-based SUVs. North American sales had a small increase in 2004 due to the availability of the Diesel engine, but decreased again in 2005, and Audi stopped production of the allroad that same year. Despite this, Audi launched the larger Audi Q7 SUV, which shared its platform with the Porsche Cayenne and VW Touareg, and will launch the smaller and sportier Q5 to fill the niche of car-based SUV. The new Allroad Quattro - based on the new A6 Avant - was announced in the spring of 2005, and has since been met with critical acclaim.
