Bentley Continental T

Bentley were committed to providing their customers with a complete range of luxury, high performance cars, which is what led to the development of the Continental T. This model had a greater focus on sportiness than the others had, but not at the expense of luxury. The 1996 Bentley Continental T had no rivals as far as performance was concerned. Producing 590 ft·lbf (800 N·m) from 1996 and 650 ft·lbf (881 N·m) from 1997, this vehicle anyone else's. A 2+2 coupé based on the Continental R, the car had a shorter wheelbase and bulging wheel arches to give it a more athletic appearance. The interior featured a chrome-finished dashboard with engine-turned accents, a sign of harking back to Bentley's celebrity past. To top it off, it even had a dedicated push-button starter. All Continental models were designed with the added purpose of crossing long distances with ease and comfort. In 1999, Bentley released the Continental T Mulliner, which had more customizing options than the basic model. With modified shock absorbers in combination with stiffer torsion bars (front +40%, rear +20%) designed for increased performance and speed, it was a step up from the original. Many of the car reviewers of the day criticized the Continental T's handling and lack of responsiveness - something the automaker had promised. Despite this, they all couldn't deny the car's character and magnificence. Production + Continental T (1996 - 2002): 322 + Continental T Mulliner (1999): 23 + Continental T Le Mans (2001): 5
