Bentley GTZ Zagato Concept

At Geneva International Motor Show 2008, Zagato Atelier proudly unveiled their latest creation - the Bentley GTZ. It marks yet another successful collaboration between the renowned Milanese Atelier and a top British automaker, a relationship which dates back over 89 years. Hot off the heels of the Ferrari 575GTZ in 2006 and the Maserati GS Zagato showcased at the Villa D'Este in 2007, the Bentley GTZ is Zagato's modern interpretation of a British GT. It all started with a conversation between Dr. Ing. Franz Josef Paefgen of Bentley Motors Limited and President of Zagato, Dr. Andrea Zagato, at the Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance in 2006, where a collection of 50's and 60's models from the Atelier were exhibited alongside newer berlinettas. This inspired Dr. Paefgen and the Zagato team to use those celebrated styling cues and apply them to a completely different form factor - the Bentley Continental GT Speed. The design team rose to the challenge, working with technical restrictions and pre-existing parts to craft a distinctive silhouette. The external characteristics of the Zagato coupe speak for themselves - robust flaring fenders, a double-bubble roof, and an all-new round rear light cluster. Meanwhile, the hand-painted pinstripe, coordinating with the interior colour, exudes refined elegance. This collaboration between Bentley and Zagato brings together two great automotive cultures, resulting in a limited-production model that is truly special.
