Bentley S1 Continental

The Bentley S1 Continental was introduced six months after the Bentley S1, a luxury car produced by Bentley Motors Limited from 1955 through 1959. The S1 represented the reduction of differences between the Bentley and Rolls-Royce models, sharing the 4.9 L (4887 cc/298 in³) straight-6 engine, with this being the last vehicle to use this engine. Twin SU carburetors were fitted to the engine, with some upgraded models appearing from 1957. It came with a standard 4-speed automatic transmission and a 4-speed manual option, both of which were fitted on two wheelbases: 123 in (3124 mm) and, from 1957, 127 in (3226 mm). ProductionThe S1 had a production total of 3072 units (145 of which had coachbuilt bodies), the S1 long wheelbase had 35 units produced (12 with coachbuilt bodies), and the Continental model had 431 units manufactured.
