Bertone Jaguar B99 GT Concept

Jaguar is well known for creating cars that embody both luxury and brutal race car-like performance. Bertone's B99 GT Concept is a perfect example of this paradoxical duality, as it draws from the classic elegance of the original B99 luxury sedan while transforming it into a formidable beast on the race track. The B99 GT Concept retains the front doors, greenhouse, hood and trunk of its street version, yet boasts an overhauled body that is 2.5 meters wide and 100 millimeters lower. Additionally, the car has been given just 50 millimeters of ground clearance and a near-perfectly flat belly to improve its aerodynamic efficiency. Its Pirelli PZero race tires measure in at 325/30/19, while its large front spoiler draws in air and its rear extractor returns it. The side spoilers contain giant exhaust side pipes, and the rear spoiler is a traditional bi-level race spoiler. Inside, the car has been stripped and filled with a safety roll cage, a full race driver's seat and a few minimalist instruments. The body graphics are fluorescent green, set in sharp contrast with the silver body and carbon fiber aerodynamic components. The B99 GT Concept also sports a modified "pure" hybrid system with two additional Lucchi electric engines added for four-wheel drive and a peak power output of 725 kilowatts, or nearly 980 Cs. With the GT, the Jaguar racing dynasty gains a formidable competitor to represent its legacy.
