BMW 2800 CS

The 2800CS was introduced as the first model of the CS series in 1968. Its design was similar to its predecessor, the 2000CS, but had certain distinct differences in its rear. The range of CS models further extended to the 3.0CS released in 1971, and the 2.5CS that was released in small numbers in 1974 due to the fuel crisis. The CSL models were specially built with a lightweight configuration for motorsport races under the FIA Group 4 regulations, competing against the racing editions of Porsche 911 and Ford Capri. Notable for its aerodynamic addition of spoilers, the CSL became known as the ‘Batmobile’, the famous racing version driven by Hans-Joachim Stuck even featured in the video game Enthusia Professional Racing.
