BMW 319-1 Roadster

The BMW 319-1 Roadster was first presented at the May 1934 Berlin Motor Show, and it marked the start of BMW's self-engineering journey. The roadster's long, sleek lines were complemented by a speedometer that reached up to 150 km/h, blazing a path to the current BMW Z4. Its two sports seats protected by the low, raked windscreen and an emergency roof offered style and comfort, not to mention the pleasure for drivers who yearn for fast, open roads and victorious passes. At the rear of the vehicle, an aerodynamic design was achieved with a tapering edge. The radiator grille enjoyed an incline more pronounced than those noted on earlier models, and the front wheel arches extended to the back. To reduce air drag, the rear wheels were fully covered, while a strong steel-pipe double frame with three crosswise box elements lent sturdiness to the body.
