BMW 520d Touring
The BMW 5-Series is renowned for its outstanding efficiency, and it continues to push the limits with its new generation of four-cylinder diesel engines. The BMW 518d and 520d have seen an increase of 5 kW of power, while fuel consumption and emissions have both decreased thanks to BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. For example, the BMW 520d Touring produces 140 kW/190 hp and burns 4.7-4.3 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres (60.1-65.7 mpg imp) with CO2 emissions of 114-124 g/km. Furthermore, if the optional 8-speed Steptronic transmission is chosen, these figures are even more impressive - 4.5-4.1 litres per 100 kilometres (62.8-68.9 mpg imp) with CO2 emissions of 109-119 g/km, depending on tyre format.
The new BMW 518d Sedan and Touring offer 150 hp at peak torque of 360 Newton metres (266 lb-ft), while the 520d Sedan and Touring have been boosted to 190 hp and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft). The 8-speed Steptronic transmission is available for the rear-wheel-drive models, while it is included as standard for the all-wheel-drive 520d models.
