Its “global warming potential” of CO2 equivalents has been calculated in accordance with the ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards, and comes in at 15% less than that of the BMW 530i combustion engine. When only renewably generated power is used to charge the battery, the environmental impact is reduced by as much as 47%.
