BMW 750iL

The BMW E38 was the base model for 7-Series cars of 1995 through 2001. Design work started in 1988, with the prototypes being revealed in 1991 and patents filed a bit later. Series production began in February 1994 and the 1995 model year E38 was expectedly unveiled. The BMW 750iL was the flagship vehicle of the E38 series, with a 5.4 L 322 bhp (240 kW; 326 PS) engine, also shared by the Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph. The 750iL was equipped with a 5-speed ZF automatic transmission as standard and had both regular and long-wheelbase versions. Additionally, rare executive long-wheelbase limousine models (L7) were available in both 740iL and 750iL variants. The Protection Line light-armored vehicles of these models had body armor, bullet-resistant glass, and durable tires. In 2001, the base prices of the 740i, 740iL, and 750iL were US$62,900, US$66,900, and US$92,100, respectively.
